UPDATE, MANUFACTURING, AND EXPANSION OPINIONS

Welcome to the next part of discussing the latest major update of the game. Today, I would like to focus on the module related to club expansion combined with manufacturing. Currently, this change doesn't have much impact on the Legacy server, as it is much more advanced.

Now, to create items, we are required to have a certain club expansion level:

A platinum item, we need an 80th level club expansion.

To create a diamond item, a 90th level.

For a MID, a 100th level.
For a TOP, a 110th level.

On the Legacy server, as many as 11 clubs meet all the requirements. Another 36 clubs have at least reached the 100th level. On the Speed server, no one currently has the 110th level, which is required to create a TOP item. This somewhat contradicts the name of the server, as while the whole game is really fast-paced, this aspect significantly slows it down.

It seems to me that this change is related to the upcoming (hopefully soon) update and the second phase of club expansion. With many new buildings, I think that reaching the 110th level won’t be a problem for anyone. However, it has been introduced now. Was it intentional? Or has the second phase of expansion been delayed again? I don’t know, but this is (at least for a while) a hurdle for many players.

Looking at it from another perspective, I must admit that this idea makes a lot of sense. From my own experience, I know that because of this update, it was possible to mobilize the entire club for a collective effort, and teamwork is the foundation in FootballTeam. Another advantage of combining manufacturing with club expansion, in my opinion, is merging two different modules, where one depends on the other. This is moving in the right direction because it forces us to develop every game mechanic more or less equally.

So, I have mixed feelings about this change. On one hand, it slows down the game, but on the other, it forces collective effort. Whether it's a plus or minus depends on what someone expects from the game.

I wanted to ask the opinion of a few players from the Legacy server about this matter, but no one really knew how to respond to it, because, in fact, this change hasn't affected them at all. Therefore, I’m adding an opinion from a well-known player from the Speed server, known to everyone in FootballTeam and on Discord (we invite everyone who hasn’t joined yet),

Andrzejek:

"As for my opinion on this topic, I have mixed feelings. On one hand, the change makes sense, but I think the timing is very off. As we all know, in our FootballTeam world, which we all know and love, we are divided into different groups of players, and the two most popular ones are f2p and p2w players. I believe that with this kind of change, the two don't align because anyone who knows the game understands that p2w players progress much faster and have more opportunities. Let me note, I’m not judging anyone here. Just before the change, I was gathering resources to upgrade my set, but after the changes, this became impossible until the club was upgraded. To sum up, the change itself is fine, but the timing is wrong. Changes are needed but should be planned with much more advance notice."

STADE BRESTOIS 29 IN THE STYLE OF CHAMPIONS.

Hello players! This week we will talk about a debutant in the Champions League, Brest, from France.

Brittany:

Brittany is a French region located in the northwest of the country, bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, the English Channel, and the Bay of Biscay. Area: 27,208 km² and population: 4.829.968 (2021) inhabitants

It was a province of the Roman Empire during the 1st century BC and passed through English hands until becoming part of France in 1532.

Brittany is known for being a land of legends, with places such as the Brocéliande forest and Carnac

The city of Brest:

The Romans built a fortress in the 3rd century. In the 13th century, the Duke of Brittany took it from the English, who occupied it in the 14th century. It returned to France in 1491 and became a naval base 140 years later. It has emerged as an important base and has been home to the French Naval Academy since 1830.

In World War I, Brest was the landing point for French troops, occupied by the Nazis in 1940 in World War II, damaged by bombing, and restored, and today it is one of France's main naval ports.

Sights:

🔹Oceanópolis:

This impressive aquarium includes 50 different aquarium tanks, 10,000 plants, and over 1,000 animal and marine species.

🔹Brest Castle:

This castle is the oldest landmark in Brest, dating back seventeen centuries. It is home to the National Maritime Museum, with artifacts that tell the story of Brest's military history.

🔹Abbaye de DaoulasÎle Saint-Honorat:

Take a 15-minute drive from Brest to see this 12th-century abbey, which, although somewhat dilapidated, is beautiful.

🔹Phare du Petit Minou le Fort du Petit MinouÎle Saint-Honorat:

To the west, along the coast from Brest, the impressive medieval lighthouse Phare du Petit Minou stands opposite the Fort du Petit Minou.

🔹HikingÎle Saint-Honorat:

Near Brest, climb granite cliffs and see medieval military defensive shelters, World War II bunkers, and hidden beaches.

The origins of the club:

Stade Brestois 29, known as Les Pirates, is a French football club from the city of Brest, founded in 1950 from the merger of 5 other clubs. Its colors are red and white.

Its stadium is the Stade Francis-Le Blé, which has a capacity of 15,220 people. The club intends to demolish this stadium to create a new one, also with around 15,000 seats, in the Brest Guipavas area. Construction work will begin in 2024, with the first use estimated for 2026.

A 72-year-old club, with only one title, the Second Division in the 1980/1981 season, which in the 2023/2024 Ligue 1 season, led by coach Éric Roy, finished third with 17 wins, ten draws, and seven defeats, and reached the unthinkable Champions League in the 2024/2025 season. It is worth remembering that the new format of the Champions League with 36 teams (in league format) has made it easier for new clubs to join the current edition, but this in no way takes away from the team's merits.

Brest is not just a team; is an icon that represents Breton culture, its traditions, and its struggle.

Squad highlights:

French midfielders Mahdi Camara, Romain Del Castillo and Dutch goalkeeper Marco Bizot are the team's standouts

It is worth mentioning that captain Brendan Chardonnet and his defensive partner Lilian Brassier formed the defense with the fewest goals conceded in Ligue 1 2023/2024.

Competitions in the season:

In the current 2024/2025 season of Ligue 1 McDonald's, the team occupied the modest 11th place in the league table in the 7th round, with 9 points in 7 games, 3 wins and 4 losses. They scored 10 goals and conceded 13.

They have played two games in the Champions League so far, beating two Austrian teams, playing in France on September 19, beating Sturm Graz 2-1 and RB Salzburg in Austria on October 1, 4-0. Abdallah Sima is the team's top scorer in the competition with 3 goals.

Let's see how Brest will perform this season, which will be historic for the city, fans and club.

I hope you enjoyed it and see you next week.

THE THIRD OF THE MALDINI LINE PLAYS FOR THE ITALIAN NATIONAL TEAM

On Monday, October 14, 2024, a historic event took place during the match between Italy and Israel. The final score of 4-1 in favor of the hosts was not the most important aspect of the evening. In the 73rd minute, the coach of the Italian national team made a substitution.

Giacomo Raspadori left the field, and Daniele Maldini took his place. This marked his debut for the senior national team. He became the third generation of Maldinis to achieve this honor, following in the footsteps of his father Paolo (126 appearances), and grandfather Cesare (14 appearances). This is the first time in history that a grandfather, father, and son have played together for the Italian national team.

Paolo Maldini, his father, is a true legend of Italian football, both for the national team and in Serie A. For Daniele, it will be an incredible feat to even partially match the accomplishments of his father, which include:

🔹Serie A: 7 titles (1988, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1996, 1999,  2004)

🔹Coppa Italia: 1 title (2003)

🔹Supercoppa Italiana: 5 titles (1989, 1992, 1993, 1994, 2004)

🔹UEFA Champions League: 5 titles (1989, 1990, 1994, 2003, 2007)

🔹UEFA Super Cup: 5 titles (1989, 1990, 1994, 2003, 2007)

🔹FIFA Club World Cup: 1 title (2007)

🔹FIFA World Cup: 1990 (3rd place), 1994 (2nd place), 1998 (group stage), 2002 (group stage)

🔹UEFA European Championship: 1988 (2nd place), 1996 (quarterfinals), 2000 (2nd place), 2004 (quarterfinals)

🔹Ballon d'Or: 1995 (2nd place in voting)

🔹FIFA 100: List of the best players in history according to Pelé

🔹Best Defender of the Year: Numerous awards and honors in various polls

After the match, Daniele expressed, "It was a strong and very positive feeling. I am very happy that I played, and the match went well for us. I am glad my parents were here and could see it. I will talk to them at home."

It was evident that he felt satisfaction and pride. The 23-year-old currently plays for Monza in Italy and has appeared in 7 league matches this season, scoring once. He is a product of the AC Milan youth academy, just like his father.

Italy won the match with two goals from Giovanni di Lorenzo and one each from Mateo Retegui and Davide Frattesi. Mohamed Abu Fani scored for Israel.

ENGLAND'S NATIONAL TEAM

Hey everyone! Right now, international soccer is on a break for national team games due to the Nations League tournament. So, I thought it would be a good time to talk about the national teams. I'll start with the England national team. Their recent match raised a lot of questions, and there are many points worth discussing. In the next issue, I plan to cover other national teams that are generating a lot of interest.

Who will be the new head coach of the England national team? After their 1-2 loss to Greece, Lee Carsley hasn’t convinced fans of his capabilities. There is increasing talk about bringing in Pep Guardiola, whose contract with Manchester City runs until the summer of 2025. For England, he’s the dream candidate.

They have had their eye on him since July, and the interest grew after rumors of his possible departure from Man City at the end of the 2024/25 season. The FA is even willing to wait a year and work with an interim coach if it means securing Pep. However, there's a challenge: Pep currently earns around £20 million, and the FA can't match that salary.

According to the Daily Mail, soccer authorities hope that the opportunity to rebuild the England national team could attract the Spaniard, provided he's given the control he desires. The English are looking for a coach “who understands the culture of the national team,” and having spent eight years in the Premier League, Guardiola “fits that description perfectly.”

Wayne Rooney weighed in on the possibility, saying, "To be honest, I'd like to see Pep. I think England should pick the best coaches. Pep would be great, given the way his teams play.” Back in August, Pep didn't rule out the possibility of coaching England, and he had even expressed a desire to lead a national team at the World Cup or European Championship as early as February.

Lee Carsley took charge of England at the beginning of August and has managed three matches so far. He secured two wins—2-0 against Ireland and Finland—but the 1-2 loss to Greece, their first defeat at Wembley, has dealt a blow to his credibility.

Currently, the bookmakers' favorite is Thomas Tuchel, with odds of 2.10. He's in talks with the FA, and an agreement could be reached soon. Before the Greece match, Lee Carsley was the top contender, but his odds have now dropped to 3.00, and the recent defeat isn't the only criticism against him.

Bookmakers have Pep as the third favorite at 6.00, Graham Potter at fourth with 8.00, and Eddie Howe in fifth place at 10.00. Potter was briefly considered the favorite after Gareth Southgate's departure, but the FA opted for Carsley. Eddie Howe has drawn attention due to his success at Newcastle, leading them to the Champions League for the first time in 20 years. However, his contract with the club runs until summer 2026, and according to The Telegraph, he isn't interested in leaving Newcastle despite the FA’s interest.

Other names like Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp were also mentioned, but Pochettino took over the U.S. national team in September, and Klopp is now the head of soccer operations at Red Bull, which oversees four clubs.

In summary, many fans are eager to see Pep take the reins. He is widely regarded as one of the best coaches in soccer history, and England currently boasts a “golden” generation of players. Almost every position, apart from goalkeeper, is filled by top-level talent, and it would be exciting to see what Pep could achieve with this squad. Although coaching a national team brings its own challenges, Pep is the kind of coach who could handle them effectively.
