WORLD CUP ENTERS THE GROUP STAGE: LIVE DRAW & HUGE REWARDS AHEAD!

27-05-2026

HEY FOOTBALLER!

The first stage of the FootballTeam World Cup is reaching its conclusion. After 63 days of intense national competition, the Preliminary Phase is about to end, closing the opening chapter of the tournament and setting the stage for the next phase of the battle for global supremacy.

Everything that follows will be based directly on the results achieved so far — every point, every match, and every goal will now shape the future path of each national team.

In this announcement, we would like to remind all players how the upcoming stages of the World Cup will unfold, as well as share full details about the upcoming group draw livestream event and a special prediction contest prepared for the community.

So without further delay — let’s go into the details!

FROM PRELIMINARY PHASE TO GROUP STAGE

With the end of Phase 1, all 64 national teams will be divided into 8 groups of 8 teams. The entire seeding system is based strictly on final standings, meaning the performance from the last 63 days will directly determine the strength of opponents in the next stage.

Teams will be drawn from 8 seeded pots, ensuring balanced and competitive groups across the tournament. Each group will include one team from each pot, creating a completely new competitive environment where past performance defines positioning, but not guarantees success.

🥇PRELIMINARY PHASE REWARDS

The Preliminary Phase was not only about qualification, but also about building a place in World Cup history. With its conclusion, players and teams will be rewarded for their performances across the opening stage of the tournament.

Among the individual honors awarded are:

  • Participation Trophy
  • Top Scorer Award
  • Top Assist Award
  • Best Goalkeeper Award
  • Best Defender Award

Each of these achievements will be permanently recorded as part of the World Cup legacy, marking the first official chapter of tournament history.

7-DAY BREAK – FINAL MOMENT FOR CHANGES

After the end of the Preliminary Phase, there will be a 7-day break before the Group Stage begins. This period serves as the final window for adjustments within national team squads.

Once the Group Stage starts, all rosters will be permanently locked until the end of the tournament. From that moment, no further changes will be possible, making this a crucial moment for final strategic decisions.

PREPARATION TIME

Every day during the offseason break (from 12:00 to 12:00 the following day, for 24 hours), special bundles with 200% value will appear in the shop. Each day will bring something new, so make sure to visit the Shop daily!

Inside, you’ll find specific boosts and resources that will speed up your player’s development before the next matches. It’s the perfect opportunity to improve your form and enter the group stage fully prepared.

At the same time, free bundles will also be available — accessible to every player as an extra bonus to help you get into an even better competitive rhythm.

🥈 WHAT’S NEXT – GROUP STAGE

The second phase of the World Cup introduces a completely new level of competition. The 64 teams will now fight in 8 groups of 8, playing 28 matches each in a highly competitive league format. Friendlies will be enabled (they consume health), but transfers will remain locked, placing full focus on consistency and squad stability.

At the end of this stage, teams will advance based on their results:

  • 🥇 1st–4th place → Masters Tournament
  • 🥈 5th–8th place → Challengers Tournament

This structure ensures that every match matters until the very last round, as teams fight either for the championship path or survival in the secondary bracket.

🥈 GROUP DRAW – DISCORD LIVE

To mark the start of the Group Stage, a special live group draw event will take place on a dedicated channel on the official FootballTeam Discord server. The entire draw will be broadcast live, allowing players to follow the process in real time as each group is revealed one by one.

📅 The draw will take place on June 1st at 5 PM UTC +2 on a specially prepared Discord channel [worldcup-draw].

GROUP PREDICTION CHALLENGE – REWARD BREAKDOWN

Alongside the live group draw, a special Group Prediction Challenge will take place, giving players the opportunity to test their intuition by predicting the final composition of the groups before they are officially revealed. The more accurate the prediction, the greater the reward.

The reward system is based on the number of correctly matched teams within a single group:

This system means that even partial accuracy can lead to valuable rewards, while a perfect prediction guarantees one of the biggest prizes available outside the pitch.

💬COMMUNITY & DISCORD ACTIVITY

The official Discord server will play an important supporting role throughout the World Cup, offering additional engagement opportunities beyond the pitch.

Players will be able to benefit from:

🎁 Activity rewards – for active participation in the community
